Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake by J'adore
Overview
- Original Recipe: Sub) 순우유맛 가득한 진짜 맛있는 황금비율❤️딸기 생크림 케이크 만들기 (New버전!!)
- Cake Size: A lovely 15 cm diameter. Heads up: this was a bit ambitious for just two of us! If you're baking for a small crew, it's perfect, but for a dynamic duo, maybe consider scaling down!
- Total Time: Brace yourselves... It took two whole days! Seriously. The sponge cake needs a good 24-hour beauty rest at room temp for the best results. Day 1 was all about the sponge (1 hour prep, 40 min bake at 338°F) and getting the cream ready (30 min). Day 2 was the fun part: 30 min for icing and another 30 min for making those strawberries shine and decorating. FYI, the kitchen turned into a mess after icing.)

Okay, so I'm officially on a mission to try all sorts of new things and figure out what truly sparks joy for me. And guess what? My very first adventure is baking! It all kicked off thanks to the incredible J'adore.
If my memory serves me right, I actually stumbled upon her YouTube channel while watching a vlog by the lovely Korean actress, Sekyung Shin. J'adore is based in NYC, and her baking chops are seriously impressive—she's trained in Korea, NYC, and Paris! But here’s the best part, the thing that really drew me in: she started her career in the corporate world in Korea, just like me!
One day, she picked up home baking as a hobby, and she just kept at it, nurturing that passion until she was ready to dive headfirst into being a full-time content creator and even taking on the challenge of formal baking schools! As someone who's spent over a decade in the corporate grind, constantly dreaming of a graceful exit (though, let's be real, stability is pretty nice, haha), her story just clicked with me. It was like a little sign that maybe I could find my own new path too.
So, when my awesome partner, Kevin, mentioned he'd love a strawberry cream cake for his sabbatical, I knew exactly where to go. I immediately pulled up J'adore's recipe, and well, the rest is delicious history! That was a bit of a long intro, but now you've got the whole backstory!
